I'm so, damn curious to know Kate glanced at her hands as she walked up from the dungeons. They were rough and calloused from countless games of Quidditch but, that wasn't the most striking thing about them. It was the smears of dark crimson that had stained her fingertips and palms that hadn't washed away after her Potions test that had caught her attention. She'd been the first to finish the practical examination even with the ten minutes she took to scrub her hands relentlessly it would appear that everyone else was still diligently working. The corridors were empty, save for the occasional ghost that passed through a wall without even a glance at her.
She didn't mind the silence, often the castle was so abuzz with students that Kate could barely hear herself think. It was a welcome change of pace after such a long day. Kate reached the bottom of the second floor stair case and tried not to think of the long climb up to Gryffindor Tower. Her Doc Martens made a soft thud with each step like the slow tempo of a bass drum. Kate had always had an affinity for music, even at a young age. She just loved how melody and lyrics intertwined to make something beautiful. But, more than that, she loved that it was such a universal medium.
It transcends time, location, even social standing. Everyone can enjoy music, even muggles. It was one of the few things the Wizard and Non-Magical worlds shared. Instruments and musicality was a language that they could both comfortably speak. It didn't matter if you had magical abilities or not you still had emotions. Music speaks to those; expresses joy, sadness, love, hate, grief, triumph. She'd begun playing the piano at the age of six, took up the guitar when she was eight, and the drums when she was thirteen during the summer between her second and third year.
She rarely played nowadays, there was so much else to be done, But, occasionally she'd find the time to escape from her busy schedule for a few hours just to play. Kate was lurched to the side, her feet sliding beneath her. Her arm instinctively flew out to grab the nearest object. She took a firm hold of the railing as the staircase shifted from one position to the next. Damn it, she grit her teeth. She should have been paying more attention. These steps had a mind of their own.
The stone stairs ground against the next platform and came to a halt.Kate hustled up the last few steps and took a look around. She hadn't gotten too far off course she was only on the third floor. But, what part of it? She rarely came this way. Kate bit her lip in thought, noting an archway and a wooden door. It looked strangely familiar. She walked up to it, curiosity getting the better of her. Pushing the iron handle the door creaked and small particles of dust sprinkled down on her. She stepped inside, not bothering to brush herself off.
Reaching out her hand into the darkness she felt cobwebs stick to her fingers. Wading through them she felt for her wand at her hip. "Lumos." she whispered. A ball of blue light erupted from the tip of her want illuminating the space. It was a long, narrow corridor dotted with several eerie looking statues.
Kate moved slowly about the hall. Across the way was another door, a large square one. Her footsteps echoed against the stone as she walked sounding far more ominous than before. She touched the handle and pushed it open. It was a large, empty room save for a small trap door at it's very center. Kate inched toward it but stopped a moment later when she heard a sound from behind her and turned quickly. "Who's there?"

Why when do our darkest deeds do we tell? They burn in our brains, become a living hell. ( Because everybody tells ) Celeste couldn't get enough of being back at school. She was sick of wearing someone else's skin though. So her potion was to wear off soon, and she would just let it. She wanted to be herself, if only alone, and if only for a while. Maybe her sister would turn up and she could have some company in her own body. She could talk to anyone any time she wanted to as Lacey, but her friends weren't exactly who Celeste wanted to deal with. "Like, oh my god. Did you see her shoes? Talk about fashion taboo!" Celeste would show them taboo if they didn't stop talking, and she would make swear by that.
She didn't really know what she was going to do, but she had to get out of here. She lifted herself off her seat, and wordlessly left the bitches to jabber. No wonder men snapped and killed their wives, it wasn't a crime of passion, it was just an act to do the rest of the world a favor. She was so annoyed she could spit. Damn birds, nothing good came out of this group. Nothing. Not. A. Damned. Thing.
She wondered if Muggle women talked like this. She never thought about Muggles, unless the thoughts were negative, but she did wonder what they were like. Beneath her, of course, but would they do anything like Wizards did? Not really, she supposed. They belonged in a Zoo, primative beasts they were. They couldn't even disappear from one place to another, they had to drive. How absurd.
As Celeste exited the Common room, she knew where she would go. The Third floor. No one was really supposed to be there, so she could be alone. She wasn't even supposed to be here, so she guessed that was something she and that corridor had in common. She kept her head high as she walked, and she watched the stairs move, and she took them as they did, standing there with much practiced grace, acting as though a single movement from her would be frowned upon. She didn't ever make eye contact, she always acted as though she were above everyone else, and in her mind, she really was. And, her reality is the only reality that would ever matter.
Celeste stepped off the stairs, and she pushed the doors, letting herself come to rest at the end of the dark hallway, conjuring a bench and sitting slowly. She sighed, rolling her shoulders, and letting her jacket fall to the floor. She wore a robe of sorts in the Common room because the clothes she wore at night were not like Lacey's little nighties, they were more like a set a high end stripper would wear, and she wasn't about to change everything in her life.
And, everything started to spin a bit, and she hated this part. She normally didn't let herself change back to her normal body, but now? She couldn't help it. She held the side of the bench, her head swimming. But, gradually, it stopped. She sighed, grabbing the end of her hair, and she smiled, she knew that texture. She was finally her again.
Her thoughts were broken when someone spoke. She bared her teeth, she didn't know what idiot had followed her, but she would pay. She lifted her wand, and she considered for a second, this could go a few ways. She might know the person and they may know her, that would be bad, so maybe she could play it safe for the time being. She crossed her legs, and she looked back towards the dark, her voice coming out of the corner; slithering towards the other like the true snake she was. "It's no one important." She said, her voice holding the accents of her native France.
She pushed herself off the bench, and she walked towards the light. She tugged her own wand up, and she waved it above her; lighting old torches on the wall. "I don't believe we've met." She said, looking the Lion over. She crossed her arms, and she kept her face deadpan. Contrary to what she said, she didn't offer any bit of who she was. The girl would either know, or she wouldn't, she might have been one of those new exchange kids, or something rot like that.

I'm so, damn curious to know She didn't like the way the girls voice echoed in the corridor, nor the tone in which she so coyly spoke. As the torches ignited around her Kate suddenly felt trapped and questioned her motivations for venturing here. Curiosity, it was her Achilles heel. Did other wizards even know what that was? She often surprised herself with her knowledge of their culture. As a pureblood wasn't it her duty to hate Muggles and everything they stood for? But, her curiosity had her reading books on Greek Mythology and had her in the middle of an abandoned corridor with a strange woman.
Great.
"No, I don't think we have met." Kate stepped forward, the light from the fire reflecting in her green eyes. She spoke boldly, which is not at all how she felt. She didn't like being caught off guard. The French accent was probably the most disconcerting of the whole thing. Very few students came to Hogwarts from that part of Europe. There was only one other student that she could think of that sounded like that. This girl had similar hair, height, and stature but, there was something different about her.
Kate didn't hear her offer up a name so she too didn't. What the hell was she doing here? Not that Kate had a good reason for being here but, she never expected to run into anyone else. Suspicion prickled her skin as she continued forward. She paused by one of the ugly statues, the light of the fire illuminating her Hogwarts Uniform. Her sleeves were pushed up to her elbows and her boots scuffed and worn.
Curiosity pulsed through her veins and while she tried very hard to wait for the girl to speak again, there were too many questions that begged to be answered. She resorted not to ask "What are you doing here?" knowing that the answer would probably be "That's not important" and she'd suddenly wield an axe and attempt to cut her to bits. Merlin, she'd been watching too many Muggle movies. "You lurk around here often?" she muttered in a slightly joking tone.
Her memory began to kick in, the trapdoor. trapdoor. Hadn't Harry talked of a secret trapdoor? She wondered if they were one in the same. But, really, how many trapdoors could Hogwarts have? It didn't take her long to come to the realization that that was a stupid question and the school probably had hundred of them. "You ever venture down that trapdoor?" she couldn't help but ask. Although she was certain she'd only answer with "That's not important" and then Kate would be forced to hex her.

Why when do our darkest deeds do we tell? They burn in our brains, become a living hell. ( Because everybody tells ) She got a look at the others as the lights came up. She didn't know her, she wasn't bad looking though. Celeste was much less fond of females then she was of males, but she could deal with them. She placed her hands on her hips, and she tilted her head to the side. Something about this seemed like it wanted to make her nervous, but she didn't know what about it did. She wanted to just off the girl to keep her secret, but if she didn't know her, then nothing could come out of it, right?
Bird knew how to sing, did she? Celeste smiled, sort of a smile. More like a baring of the teeth, but it was something. One could see it as a smile, she supposed. She advanced on the girl, her eyes never leaving the girl, her heels clicking against the empty stone halls. the skirt around her waist swaying as she moved. She spoke slowly, choosing her words carefully. "Pity." She smiled, getting closer to the girl still. She moved to her side, and behind her, circling her in a way, though she really never completed the circle, she moved off towards the wall before she finished the circle.
She looked at the wall, tracing her fingers along the wall, and she moved back to the bench she was on before she stood. She sat, holding her shoulders square, and she could see her getting closer. She ran her tongue over the front of her teeth, and she looked as the girl spoke again. "I go where I please." She said, her head held high. Her posture was one of dominance, she never let anyone get the best of her.
She furrowed her brow as she heard the other speak again. Trap door? What trap door? She didn't know what was going on, but she would find out. She wanted to know what this girl knew. Could she actually know things that could be of use to Celeste. She moved towards the girl, fast like. She stood next to her. "Show me." Her voice was more of a threat then any sort of question. She crossed her arms, and she felt her hands grab over the end of her wand, looking at the other with a fiery expression.

I'm so, damn curious to know There was this look in the girl's eyes. This horrifyingly cruel look that reminded Kate of the many wanted posters for Death Eaters back in her time. It was that leering, narrowed eyed glare that can only come from someone with sinister intent. Kate didn't want to jump to conclusions but, she didn't want to ignore the possibility that she could be dangerous. The stranger circled around her like a vulture, her tall figure casting a shadow over smaller Kate. She felt her hand tighten instinctively around her wand. What ever this girl was pulling, Kate was going to be ready.
"Pity" the woman whispered. That's not what Kate had in mind. If anything it was a pity that she had decided to venture to the third hall corridor. It was a pity that she had finished her potions test early. It was a pity that Kate had been sucked into the past. It was not a pity that she had never met her before. In fact, she much preferred it that way. Kate hid her suspicions well, keeping a brave front up as the girl trailed off behind her. Turning she cocked an eyebrow, "Fell better?" She was trying to assert dominance by inspecting Kate like she was a raw piece of meat. Kate wasn't going to let her.
Kate decided to ignore her comment about coming and going where she pleased. It was another of those intentionally evasive statements that was meant to give her an air of mystery but just made Kate want to smack her. Then there was the demanding interject "Show me!". She certainly didn't like that. She was tempted to say "find it yourself, bitch" but instead uttered, "Certainly." assertively.
She walked forward, letting the girl follow behind her. The trick here was not to say anything about the future. About the big three-headed black dog that guarded the trapdoor. About the stone that Harry so bravely procured after facing multiple challenges and Lord Voldemort himself. Any information about the future could ruin everything. And while Kate wasn't entirely convinced things were going to stay the say, she knew they wouldn't, she didn't want anyone to know that a powerful stone could be in this location. Nor the various tasks that needed to be completed in order to retrieve it.
"This castle's just full of secret places like this one." she spoke over her shoulder. Coming to the center of the room she knelt down and her hand wrapped around the thick iron handle. The metal felt cool in her hand as she pried the wooden door up and open. Kate felt her blood pulse quickly through her body. Every ounce of her wanted to jump down that hole and uncover it's mysteries. "What do you say we have a look?"
