you're just a daydream away
i wouldn't know what to say if i had you
Ron sighed, this place wasn't his taste, really it was the same as his time, but nothing was the same. He didn't have his parents, or some of his brothers. Where was Fred? Or Bill? Charlie was here, by some weird turn of events. He had George, and Ginny; but where was everyone else? His parents? Were they at home, or something worse? The thoughts kept him up at night, and he'd been getting thinner, he knew people could tell. Not like it mattered, no quidditch for him here, it seemed. He didn't care, silly game anyhow. He didn't want to play, or so he told himself. He didn't want that to be just another thing he had to bother him really. He had enough to bother him, but at least he had Harry and Hermione to calm his nerves, but really, his nerves were shot, and he knew people could tell.
He left the towers, having missed his last class. He didn't care, no one knew him here. He climbed back towards the towers, but he didn't want to stay in the room, so he changed, and he moved even farther up the towers. He found himself wandering up more stairs, and eventually found himself outside. He hadn't brought a coat, which was a bit of a mistake on his part, but he honestly couldn't feel much, so he figured he'd live. He looked up at the sky, the clouds thick and gray. They were typical weather of this time of year, so maybe everything wasn't different, the year was, but the weather remained constant. The stairs beneath him remained covered in snow, and slippery as ever. The owlry remained loud, and he dropped his eyes, having just caught himself listening for the once irratating hoot of Pig, but he knew there was nothing to listen for now.
He moved up the stairs, and he moved through the darkened doorway, looking up. Owls everywhere. He wanted to call out, scream and tear around till he found his tiny owl, but what good would stirring the fowl up do? None, Pig was not here. His mother wasn't here, neither were his other brothers. He was as nearly as familyless as Harry and that thought bothered him very much, as horrible as it was for him to say. He didn't care, he wanted his loud, annoying family back. Bloody hell, he even missed Percy! It was getting serious, more serious then Sirius Black, when he realized he missed someone like Percy.
He moved out of the doorway, and he moved back to the rail, looking over the grounds. He leaned, his elbows falling into the snow, his arms holding his thinned chest. He wanted to scream something, see how far his voice would carry, but he was just feeling off today, he normally would never have been out in the snow, wanting to scream at trees. Echoes existed in the past right? That wasn't something new? He knew he was losing his mind now, of course echoes existed. Everything he had, or most everything, existed at this time, it wasn't like it was that long ago, only a few years here, and some more there. No big deal, right? Right?
