AGE/DOB: Miss Ariadne Rosier is sixteen years old and was born 10 August 1960
YEAR: She is currently a sixth year in the school
HOUSE: Somewhat shamefully, Ariadne is a member of Ravenclaw House
OCCUPATION: Ariadne is a student, above all else, and as such, she has no occupation.
AFFILIATION: Like her noble and just parents, Miss Rosier prefers the company of Death Eaters over that of mudbloods
SEXUALITY: Miss Rosier prefers the fairer sex to the exclusion of the masculine one, though she dares not speak a word of this to anyone

EYE DETAILS: Some people have honest eyes, the sort that make other people believe what is being said over their better judgment, and Ariadne is one of these people. Looking into those blue eyes, which can open wide and look so innocent, the lies that almost constantly pass over her lips seem so sweet, so true. And, of course, this is a very useful tool for the Dark Lord
HEIGHT/WEIGHT/BUILD: Miss Rosier stands at five feet, eight inches and weighs a light one hundred ten pounds. Her frame is extremely slight, for despite her height and weight, she does not look overly skinny, but instead merely small. If not for the way she holds and carries herself, she might seem fragile, like a porcelain doll.
FACE: Unlike her brother and sister, who both have tall, regal looking faces, Ariadne’s face is a bit squatter and more square-ish. That’s not to say she has a box for a head, but a point where she differs from her two siblings and makes her stand out a bit from the family, which is useful.
STYLE: On the one hand, all good pure blood wizards should dress in robes and other traditional garb at all times. On the other, such clothing is extremely cumbersome and uncomfortable, so Miss Rosier must, often, change out of them in favor of more modern clothing. As such, class and formal occasions are the only times when Ariadne will actually wear wizard robes, taking every opportunity to get out of them into something more comfortable and generally wearable. The vast majority of the time, you will see her in t-shirts or tank tops and jeans, that is to say she dresses extremely casually, and, I do believe, that she owns not a single outfit that would be considered semi-formal, a result of the competing force of youth and ideology. As a result, her wardrobe is somewhat incomplete, at least while on campus. Back home, conveniently forgotten during the trip to Hogwarts, Miss Rosier does have a fuller wardrobe, but, well, those have been left behind.
FEELINGS: Ariadne does not like to show off her feelings, at least the important ones. And it is not that she is afraid or unable to, but merely that it serves her well to keep their physical manifestations under control so that she might be able to determine what face she shows to those around her. Of course, this is an imperfect process and rather often she ends up freely expressing joy, grief, anger, frustration, hatred, or any of the myriad of emotions a person might display. Typically, when not under some sort of obligation, Ariadne tends to the world of do what you feel, often putting her at odds with room- and classmates want her to “do” things for them. Again, though, it is not as though she monolithically refuses to cooperate with others or what have you, but instead, that given the option between following her own whims and mundane obligations, she will always follow the former, just as how if she has an option between lying or speaking the truth in a given situation, with no other qualifications, she will choose the former. Now, there is one more thing that bears mentioning, and that is her feelings towards the current struggle between the pure and polluted, and in this matter, Miss Rosier follows the will of her family (odd given what I just spoke about) and does truly believe that their world would be better off purged of those polluted apes traipsing about.

- Riding those wheeled brooms that muggles have
- English cuisine (it’s all pudding, some with blood in it)
- Red tulips

BOGGART: The boggart takes the form of a handsome man, dressed in the finest robes, with a haughty bearing. While this man is no one in particular, he provides a symbol for what she fears, that she will be forced into marriage with some pure blood wizard by her parents despite her own wishes and desires. The actual form that a boggart takes seems rather strange to anyone with her, and Ariadne has an elaborate story that she offers up to whomsoever might be with her when encountering one, though she first tries to deflect the issue by acting as though this is a memory of some traumatic memory from his past.
DEMENTOR: When the sorting out shouted out Ravenclaw as opposed to Slytherin. Of course, this might seem like a rather trivial moment, and to most children it would be, but when one comes from an ancient pure-blood family, it makes one feel as though their world has been torn apart and that, all of a sudden, the entire family has been let down. One instantly feels an outcast of sorts. In the days following, Ariadne got over her fear and terror and realized that this was not the end of the world, after all her mother was also a Ravenclaw, which is a fine house for those of pure blood, nothing to be ashamed of, but that moment was one of extreme terror and shame.
PATRONUS: Ariadne’s patronus is a bull which stands as tall as she is, though many times wider and longer, with great horns coming from its head. The beast is said to be a symbol, along with the unicorn, for the untamable, though while the unicorn is pure, the bull if violent. In addition Ariadne’s namesake’s city was said to put bulls on their coins and she herself was closely related to a certain bull. Also, given their size and might, a bull can mess a dude up, which our Ariadne finds rather enjoyable. However, it should be noted that Ariadne has a difficult time summoning her patronus, and we will see why below.
Her best memory is the day she went out into the muggle world for the first time. Not because of the muggles themselves, but because it opened up a whole new world to Ariadne, one that went beyond the borders of her home and her small corner of the town. It caused her eyes to open wide and discover all the possibilities of life. However, it also symbolizes some of the problems of her life, since the world is both harsh and promising.
AMORENTIA: The smell of wood burning and a fire roaring under a cauldron; Roasting garlic; the salty air of the sea
VERITASERUM: Well, there’s one secret that has already been mentioned a twice (or so) and that is Ariadne’s sexuality, which she has managed to keep secret for the past four years or so. Of course, this is something that is difficult to keep secret and even more so, it would be something difficult to deal with if it was out in the open. God willing, no one will find out, but so long as Ariadne keeps her mouth shut on the issue, no one should ever be able to find out.
While Ariadne does, for some reason, have a strong hatred of mudbloods and blood traitors, she does not hate muggles anymore than another person would hate a chimp or lemur. And because of this, Ariadne has gathered a certain appreciation for certain aspects of muggle culture, in the same way that a Briton in the nineteenth century might have a slight fetishistic interest in African or Oriental culture.
STRENGTHS: The crown jewel (so to speak) among Ariadne’s various talents (for she has many) is her ability to lie, with her words, deeds, face, and mind, she is incredibly skillful in deceiving others, which is unsurprising, given that (among other things) she is a Slytherin in Ravenclaw and, as such, a wolf (of sorts) among sheep. In addition, her academics are generally strong, as with most of those in her house, though she excels in Potions and Transfiguration (they both let you do oh so many sneaky fun things). And, for a third, Miss Rosier is rather skilled at arguing a point, right or wrong, more often than not wrong, simply for the sake of arguing – it is a great passion of hers, to be able to shut up a haughty Gryffindor or mudblood despite her being wrong. It leaves such a sweet taste in one’s mouth.
WEAKNESSES: Well, this first weakness will be one of those that sounds lame as far as weaknesses go, but Ariadne has difficulty opening up, emotionally with people. Given that fact that she far prefers lying to telling the truth, in those instances where she just wants to get something off of her chest, she often finds it either impossible or that she divulges too much, going beyond the bounds of what is appropriate or healthy. And as such, she has problems dealing with some of her more negative emotions, like anger and depression, though we will not go into too much detail about those things at this very moment and will leave the expression of this problem to the story itself. In addition, we said that Miss Rosier was generally good at magic and school work, but what she fails miserably at is dueling and things of that ilk – she tends to work better from a plan or when she has some time to react, rather than the reflex or instinctual nature that fast combat tends to favor. And finally, we can say that Miss Rosier, like many young people, is susceptible to the powers of various intoxicants (magical and mundane) and this has often lead to problems in the past – when she goes, she goes large.
OVERVIEW:
If we have to define Ariadne by one concept, it would be her love of anarchy and general chaos. Well, that really ought not be overstated, but that is the driving force of much of what Miss Rosier does. Her compulsive lying, her odd choice in outfits, her preference for sneaking about and testing potions on her mudblood housemates, all of this stems from her desire to be pointlessly destructive. But, I suppose it’s more important to discuss why she is destructive and chaotic than that she is. So, if we’re looking for causes, it would probably have grown out of her childhood, where she saw her parents more as thugs for the Dark Lord than as authority figures, and this sort of behavior became normal for her. But while her brother took those lessons and dedicated himself to the cause, Ariadne saw her parents as murderers and destroyers and that became what she viewed as proper behavior.
However, once again, this may be overly dramatic, for it is not as though Ariadne is a marauder, running about destroying everything that lies before her or even that she would want to act thusly, but rather that this is one of her defining characteristics on a large scale. Of course, the majority of the time this anarchism manifests as her doing whatever she feels like doing at a given moment. And even then, she is able to hide such desires behind a calm face. This, then, leads to something mentioned above, which is that Ariadne is something of a liar – occasionally for an end, just as often merely for the sake of the lie itself. Perhaps it is all just training, if you learn to lie constantly it makes each lie easier. Or perhaps she is just a sociopath. In either case, the only people she tries to remain honest with are her family and extremely close associates, though there are some things that must be hidden even from these.
Well, we’ve talked about some of the negative aspects of Ariadne’s persona, perhaps now we should look at some of those aspects that do not make her into a monster. We should mention her intelligence and how that shapes her personality. As stated above, Miss Rosier is rather good at her classes, receiving decent to high marks in all of them, but excelling above all in Potions and Transfiguration, most likely because these are the only two she has enough interest in to actually practice and study. But those are just her academics, how smart is she really? Ariadne herself fancies herself rather brilliant, and why should she not? She has been studying potions above and beyond what she needs for class and has shown herself able to make complex poisons that worked rather well on the mudbloods on whom they were tested. And she’s found herself rather skilled at arguing and debating points, especially after reading old muggle books on rhetoric and logic (though, for the most part, they also espouse some bizarre morality that just strikes her as untenable). But all that being said, she is no Severus Snape or Lily Evans, inventing all sorts of nonsense and doing, with a wand, whatever they damn well please; but she is trying and has one potion that’s nearing the final stages of preparations and about to go out to the “clinical trials.” Transfiguration, however, is not as high on her list of interests, and is more the means to the means to an end inasmuch as it allows one to hide things easily and to move about unnoticed. Though, we’ll see more of that later.
But even that trait ended with her looking like a complete madwoman. Perhaps that is, to a certain degree, unavoidable. She is, after all, a death eater sympathizer and hopefully will soon be inducted into that dark society. Though, perhaps we are being unfair, we want, here, to touch on the big important points in her personality, and those are the ones that make her look deranged. We could also mention how she can sit in conversation with people without leaping onto their arguments, how she can move about within those social circles in which she feels comfortable and even in those she is not used to she can navigate the waters fairly well, but that’s boring. We could also mention the way in which she views personal relationships and her ideas on issues of love and friendship, but again, that is not what the people want to read, is it? As such, we’ll leave those sorts of things to be shown later, in the thick of the story itself.

SIBLINGS: Evander Rosier, 17, Death Eater, Slytherin
- ~~~ Rosier, 16 (fraternal twin), Death Eater, Slytherin
OTHER IMPORTANT FIGURES: None to speak of
WEALTH STATUS:Upper Middle Class
BIRTHPLACE: Abergavenny in Monmouthshire, Wales
CURRENT RESIDENCE: Abergavenny in Monmouthshire, Wales
OVERVIEW:
A little over a year after the birth of Evander Rosier, Ariadne and her twin sister were born, in the August of 1960. Like their older brother, the two girls were not particularly desired by their parents and while well taken care of, were mainly raised by their family’s housekeeper turned nanny and their various house elves. It was not that their parents did not care about them, of course they cared about their offspring (especially inasmuch as the children reflected on the quality of the parents), but their work, for the Dark Lord, was always their main focus. But such things seemed rather normal to Ariadne, since it was all she was used to, and there were few other children to tell her how odd this was.
But there was one odd thing that seemed rather odd to Ariadne about all of this, namely that Evander was often taken out for the day by their housekeeper, while Ariadne and her sister stayed home with the elves. At first, she was angry at her older brother for being allowed to do something so special on such a regular basis. Drusilla, their housekeeper and nanny, told Ariadne and her sister that they were too young to go, but after a few years of that excuse, it seemed to make little sense, given that they were older than Evander when he was first taken out. But after enough complaining, Ariadne and her sister were allowed to come along, to witness the muggle world.
And Abergavenny was amazing. The rolling rooms, the wheeled brooms, the flashing lights over the wide black strips of land, the people, the way they were dressed, it was all so exciting to the little seven year old who had only known her own home and its surroundings. What was even more incredible were all the things she had never even heard of, all of those wondrous muggle things that abounded. It was a whole new world and it was incredible. That evening, however, when their parents discovered what had been going on, they heard all about how awful such muggle things were and what sort of work, in vague terms as she remembers it, Dilon and Dromomine had been engaged in for that last decade; that is to say the protection of the wizarding world from the invasion of mudbloods, though this is likely what she knows now corrupting her memory of what happened then. Ariadne found it odd that those sorts of people she had seen early that day were so much trouble for her and her ilk, but it must be the case that their world was somehow corrupting.
Over the next few years, until Ariadne went to school, she often snuck out of the house to go into the muggle town and while she found it fascinating, she also found that perhaps there was something wrong with it. Of course, that view had been in some way twisted by her parents – it seemed that she looked for every bit of wickedness and cruelty in their world. She devoured it, took it into her while at the same time despising it as vile and inferior to her world. It was a conflicted view of that world, but one she found rather natural. It also lead to some amounts of conflict with her nanny and parents, who were insistent that she remain in the house, away from muggles, but eventually she managed to sneak out and back in without being noticed, or only noticed rarely.
When she went to school, though, things changed. She was sorted into Ravenclaw, which was something of an embarrassment, even though her mother had been a Ravenclaw as well, and was not taken particularly well by her parents, who saw it as potential proof that she was a blood traitor, and as such became something of a black sheep, though not entirely shunned. Instead, she took it upon herself to prove her hatred of mudbloods, which resulted in her getting into a lot of trouble during her first year. In her second and third, we can say that not much of note occurred, though she calmed down a bit with the anti-mudblood stuff, since she had proven her devotion rather publicly. In the summer between her third year and her fourth year, she learned that her parents were Death Eaters and what they did for their Dark Lord.
By her fourth year, Ariadne began to completely avoid discussing the issue of the Death Eaters and the Dark Lord with those whose families were not on the right side of the struggle, not wanting to be characterized as a something she was – what was the use of being in a house other than Slytherin if you were just going to act like one – you had to act like a true snake, being devious and underhanded about such things. That being said, how successful she is in this endeavor is questionable, as she still tries to maintain her social standing within pure blood circles, but it will be what it will be, yes? Anyway, in her next year she managed to get an O in her Transfiguration, Potions, Herbology, and Ancient Runes, and an E in her Charms, DADA, Arithmancy, and History of Magic classes. That is to say, she did very well. And that more or less brings us up to date with Ariadne, though perhaps we should mention her current Potions project, but really, secrets are best kept that way.
