The wind was cool on her already cool features. Her blonde hair flew around her body. She carried a large case, something that was easy for her. It was some of the perks to being a vampire. She had better strength than most girls, even than most guys. Juliet smiled, her red lips curving to match her pale skin. She decided to have a little practice, not that she needed it, she had been around a while and pretty much perfected her skill.
She got to the center of the pitch and laid the case down, tying her hair into a high pony tail. As she opened the case, she grabbed one of the two bats. She smiled when she knew she shouldn't actually have the case, but it was just too easy to gain. She unchained the bludger and whistled for her broom. Propping herself on her broom she listened for the whistling sound it made when it came close. As she felt it coming closer, she readied herself, turning quickly and hitting the metal ball as hard as she could. She watched as it flew to the other side of the pitch. She gained more height, her lips twisting into a smirk as she once more readied herself for another swing. She watched it come closer and closer before she once more hit it to the other side of the pitch, her power evident in every swing.
Juliet sighed. It was much to easy when she was by herself and wished somebody was there to help improve her skill, not that it needed much more improving. She allowed herself to float gradually to the ground, listening for the whistling that was getting closer. she touched the ground and readied herself for the catch. She stood her ground, her eyes set on the bludger. She felt it hit her body and she collapsed to the ground. She scurried herself over to the case and chained it back inside.
She closed the case, carrying it once more to the stands. She was slightly hungry but ignored the feeling, sitting in the stands that her fellow students would set when they were to cheer for a team. Games had started and she was thankful she had something to do to fill her time. She was just so bored lately. Everything was so repetitive.
She took her hair out, shaking it out and letting it fall. Her eyes skimmed the empty field.

Alex found that when he didn’t have any lessons to go to he was incredibly bored and needed to find something to occupy his time with, which was his current problem at the moment. Running a hand through his messy head of dark hair while he contemplated what to do to keep his mind occupied. He could go bother whoever was in the Common Room, or maybe even head down to the Great Hall to see if there was anything left to eat--though he wasn't feeling too hungry, he'd already stuffed his face with sweets from his stash. Rubbing at the stubble on his chin, Alex pushed away from the bay window in the boys dormitory that he'd been lounging upon and shuffled across the messy floor, magazines, dirty clothing, and half eaten sandwiches ["Probably Pettigrew's."] lay strewn across its surface and he had to navigate around the mess to make it to the door.
He decided that he'd rather go for a walk around campus than stay put in the stuffy castle for any longer. It was becoming rather unbearable, it was dusty and old, and he could definitely go for some fresh air right about now to help clear his head up a bit. A little disappointed by the lack of people in the common room, the 6th year realized that there was no one to join him on his walk, no one to keep him company--he would have to keep himself amused since there was no one else to do it for him. Letting a light sigh pass over his parted lips he made his way through the castle and out the large reinforced wooden doors, breathing in the crisp autumn air and vaguely wishing that he had snatched a jumper before leaving the castle but he wasn't in the mood to turn tail and run back up to the tower to grab one so he'd just have to deal with the chill in the air. He was a big boy, he could run or do something to get his blood to start flowing to keep him warm anyhow.
With that thought in mind, Alex picked up his feet and started jogging around the grounds. His feet ended up bringing him to the Quidditch Pitch, a place that he didn't often frequent for his lack of interest in the sport altogether. He wasn't at all surprised to find that someone was there, though alone, from the looks of it they--well, she, now that he got a better look at the person--seemed distracted, perhaps by boredom?
"Oi! You look like you're having fun, mind if I join you?" An easy-going grin tugged at the corners of his lips when he recognized her as Juliet Bludd. She was in his house.
Without waiting for an answer, he started climbing the stairs that lead to the top of the stand where she was, taking the seat beside her. [/size]

Juliet sighed, her face falling a little. She just found the events around here boring lately. Maybe it was because she did the same thing over and over. Maybe this time around, she'll finish and travel for a few years. Take a break. The only reason she was always in a full circuit that never ended was because she was able to control herself. Vampires didn't deal well with freedom. Juliet was deep in her thoughts. She was skimming the whole events. She didn't feel it to be too serious, the Halloween attack and such. She didn't feel phased much. She sighed, but was suddenly broken out of her thoughts by a voice. She looked around, her eyes skimming the fields but couldn't see any movable figures, until she looked to the stands. Her blue eyes fell upon a boy, well, she couldn't really say boy, he was probably 'older' than her, in his mind anyway. She smiled when she realized who it was. Alexander Vale. He was in most of her classes, and the same year and house. He was good looking, but it didn't make her go crazy like some others.
She smiled, her pale pink lips showing her straight white teeth. "Alex! Not at all, just having a little break, was practicing, but it's not as fun as having somebody else there."
[/i] She explained. Her blonde hair shifted in the light breeze. She didn't feel the cold like everyone else did. She's even sure she could go out in the snow in her underwear, and everything would be okay. She looked at the pitch and then back at the boy sitting next to her. "What brings you to this neck of the woods? After all, you don't play Quiddich."[/i] She smiled, her face lighting up. She didn't mind the company after all, and he was good company. Juliet took her blonde hair in her hands, pulling it to one side and straightening the curls. It wasn't often that Vampires had blonde hair, which allowed her to avoid confrontations, something she was thankful for. "You look cold, are you okay?"[/i] She asked, her blue eyes filled with curiosity and concern. [/color][/size][/blockquote][/blockquote] * * * words;; 450 thoughts;; ohai!

An easy-going grin painted his lips, Alex was glad that he had found someone to keep him company—whether she wanted him to be there or not, she was now stuck with him! Well, maybe it wasn’t like that. If she had wanted him to leave he would have obliged politely, though he would’ve felt downtrodden by it. Luckily for him she seemed to welcome his company as much as he had hoped she would. Tilting his head to the side, Alex briefly wondered what it had been that she had been thinking about when he had first arrived onto the field—he recalled her expression, calm, serene and seemingly deeply in thought but figured he’d save that question for later.
He laughed, “I can imagine! Can’t really bounce the ball back and forth when you’re the only one playing.” The Gryffindor boy wasn’t really a fan of Quidditch, in fact, he wasn’t really into sports in general so he didn’t quite understand why there was so much hype for the wizarding sport. He could comprehend the minimal basics of the game but anything beyond that was completely lost to him and went over his head. Though his lack of comprehension for the game didn’t necessarily mean that he never came out to watch the games. If he had a friend playing [for any of the Houses] then he’d come out and support that friend and their team.
Alex shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly, “In all honesty I was out for a run and my feet just ended up bringing me here—though I’m glad they did! It was beginning to feel like a ghost town around here, couldn’t find anyone around to talk to and it was really starting to freak me out. It was like one of those Muggle horror films where the lead character wakes up and realizes that he’s all alone in the world.” He started out sounding okay but by the end of it he had begun to do what he tended to do when conversing with someone; over exaggerate, though this time it was mixed in with a little paranoia to spice things up.
“Ah, yeah it is a bit chilly out, yeah? I was stupid enough to leave the castle without grabbing a jumper first. I’ll be fine though.” He grinned to show that he was unaffected by the cold, an easy façade to uphold, he was glad that he was at least wearing a long sleeved shirt [though the material was incredibly thin] so that she couldn’t see the goosebumps that prickled his arms.

Juliet felt a little alone, even though Alex was sitting right next to her. She was probably having an out of body experience or something because she felt she could see herself with Alex, her features fallen. She tried to smile, but her lips wouldn't oblige. She sighed, looking up to stare into his dark eyes. It was as if they were opposites. She smiled at this. Here, sitting next to her, was her appearance opposite.
She felt the cool wind hit her face, she almost wished she had nice jumper she would have worn, but of course not, she didn't like too much baggage. She laid her eyes upon the field once more before answering him. "Yeah, It's not. So let me get this straight. Have you ever played Quiddich in your life?"
[/i] The question was suitable. She didn't know how anyone couldn't. It was a great was to pass the time, and a lot of fun. The Gryffidndor team always found something fun to do to the other team, after all, when you put James as captain and Sirius co-captain, what do you expect? Who ever did that should have seen this coming. She smiled at the boy in front of her. She was glad he was here to keep her company, even if he didn't plan on it in the first place. "Oh Alex. So where is the bad guy that usually comes out of some closet type contraption? Make sure they don't get you..."[/i] She did this with a laugh. She loved his little quirky ways, it comedic for her. Juliet raised both her arms and even this time, the breeze was cool. "I wish I had brought a jumper out also. I think this was a bit of a bad idea, though a run does sound nice..."[/i] The smile spread wide across her face. She loved to exercise, and exercise seemed to love her. She giggled thinking he was going to one of those boys that would say they are a man and try and be all manly, when on the inside, they are as scared or cold as anything. She tightened her body into herself, savoring as much heat as possible. This ought to be fun... [/color][/size][/blockquote][/blockquote] * * * words;; 450 thoughts;; ohai!

Alex took no time pondering her question, he already had an answer and with a gleeful grin and a shake of his head he blurted out, “Nope!” Popping the ‘p’, “I’ve never really been into sports in general and Quidditch just never really appealed to me—a bunch of brutes, no offense!, flying around in circles while passing balls back and forth while trying to catch some tiny winged ball? It’s just really absurd sounding…and doesn’t really seem like very much fun to me.” He then realized that everything he had just said could have possibly offended her since he knew her to be an avid Quidditch player and fan so he quickly spluttered out, “But that doesn’t mean that I don’t support my friends who play Quidditch because I definitely do! I just don’t like playing the game, myself. But it’s cool that you like it!” He rambled, his voice coming out fast and his words slurred together—hopefully she’d be able to discern what it was he was saying.
He waved off her comment with a cocky smirk, “Don’t be silly! If someone were to come after me I’d just blast them away with….my…..wand…hmm, now where the hell did I put that thing…?” He began to reach into his pocket to pull out his wand so that he could use it in emphasis of what he was saying…only, he realized, that it wasn’t where it was supposed to be. He panicked, what if he dropped it somewhere during his run? He hoped that he had just left it behind in the dorm room but he distinctly remembered pocketing it before leaving his dorm earlier….
“Damnit. I think I might’ve dropped it…”

“I can be girly too you know…”
He tilted his head to the side and pouted playfully, “By your statement are you trying to imply that I am girly for not liking Quidditch? I feel as if our roles have gotten reversed here…” He hadn’t really misinterpreted the meaning behind her words, but he felt the need to tease her all the same, what she had said could have easily been interpreted to mean that she could act girly too, where that ‘too’ implied that he too was girly. That was how he chose to respond to her statement, “If that’s how you think of me then perhaps you should let me borrow a dress or two from you to complete the picture, yeah?”
Alex grinned, “Well you’re certainly not like the other girls, that’s for sure—which is a good thing! While they’re fussing over their appearance and flirting with boys, you’re beating up the toughest blokes on campus.” He found that image to be quite amusing, as petite as Juliet was she really was a force to be reckoned with when it came to Quidditch—he’d seen her play on countless occasions and she meant business. Maybe that was why they got a long so well? Because she was different, not made from the same cookie-cutter molding that most of the other girls were made from—Juliet actually had a personality and was genuinely fun to be around.
“With my luck a giant spider will come scurrying out of the woods, and without my wand to protect myself with it’ll climb up here and gobble me up.” He bit his lip at the thought, an involuntary shudder running up his spine. He hated spiders and rumor had it that there were some pretty big ones living in the Forbidden Forest, though he’d never dare to wander into the murky depths of the woods, just in case there was truth to those rumors. “Alright, yeah. You don’t mind do you? Because I could always go search for it alone if you wanted to stay here and practice more or something?” He smiled despite himself and placed his [much larger] hand in hers and let her help him to his feet before following her down the stairs of the stand that they’d been sitting on.
“Whoa, slow down and let those of us who’re less athletic catch up, yeah?” Alex teased, it took him a moment or two longer than her to make it down the rest of the stairs since he was taking them one at a time instead of 2 or 3 like she was with her jumping.
“Alright…I suppose we should trace my steps then? Well…we could look around here first and if it’s not here then maybe check by the lake? Though I really hope it’s not over there because then it runs the chance of someone accidentally walking by and kicking it into the water which would be a major inconvenience...”

She snorted at the boys retort. She knew he knew what she meant, but all she did was roll her eyes.Him in a dress? She wondered for a moment, what exactly would he look like in a dress? As soon as the image popped into her head, her eyes widened and she immediately wished for it to leave. "Well, I know you won't look good in red, so how's about we try black, or green even.... Maybe white?" She asked, picturing each dress she owned.
Her lips curved to a smile as he complemented her on her different personality to the other girls. She giggled realizing that if her were to know the real her, he wouldn't talk to her at all, let alone be at the same school. This would cause either a pitchfork gathering of the students or a gathering of students with wooden stakes. How could she die (again) so easily?
Juliet's gaze fell upon him as she finished down the stairs. '"Alex! Of course I want to help you! Gives me something to do, Practicing is boring, and I have practice with the team tomorrow afternoon, so it's no big deal. Now. Around here you say..." She linked her arm around his and started to walk, retracing the steps he took to get to her in the first place. Her blue eyes glanced at each blade of grass underneath the fallen leaves. It would be winter soon.
Her shoulders fell to a shrug when she couldn't see the wand anywhere, and she had exceptional eye sight. "Now that you have said it would be an inconvenience, it is more likely to happen right... Because I can't see it anywhere. How about you?" She asked this, no traces of doubt in her words. She didn't think he could find it because she couldn't, but who knows, she may have overlooked something. She may have exceptional eyesight, but she can look over things in a matter of seconds without it registering into her brain. "So I hear your afraid of spiders...." She said this with a smile. They were harmless, well mostly. The ones in the forbidden forest didn't really play nice... More ambushed their prey...

Alex took a step back, placing a hand over his heart and looking positively affronted, “You know I won’t look good in red? Well that makes me feel a bit crummy…can’t even wear a pretty dress in my house’s colors without looking like a fat cow! But…” He sniffled dramatically, “…I guess I’m glad that you told me this now instead of waiting ‘till I showed up to the Yule Ball wearing a red gown. It’s for these reasons that I’m glad to have you around!” His lips curved into a grin, winking. The thought of him wearing a dress of any color was really quite funny and he couldn’t really imagine himself going to a public event wearing—well, actually, the sad part was that he could see himself showing up somewhere, like the Yule Ball, wearing a floor length gown. But not because he liked dressing like a woman, because he didn’t, more or less he’d do something of that nature as a joke, simply to get a good laugh out of the reactions he’d surely attract from his peers.
He ran a hand through his already messy hair, not even caring that strands were sticking out in various directions, “Well then…great! Because I’d rather have you helping me than for me to have to do this on my own! We can cover more ground that way.” Alex laughed and when her arm slipped into his he couldn’t help but to grin giddily and instead of taking regular steps he stretched out his leg and marched down the path with Juliet in tow, his eyes glued to the ground in hopes that he’ll catch a glimpse of the familiar polished handle of his wand, thus putting an end to their search.
Alex’s eyes widened and he could have face-palmed as the realization hit him that there was a far easier and less time consuming way to find his wand than fanning out and searching the grounds like they were. “Oiii, you know I didn’t think about it before but can’t you just Accio my wand?” Tilting his head to the side so he could get a better look at his friend, giving her one of his ‘don’t-judge-me-for-not-thinking-of-that-before-I’m-slow-sometimes-it’s-not-my-fault-i-was-dropped-on-my-head-as-a-baby’ looks.
A shudder ran up his spine and he furrowed his brows, “What’s not to be afraid of? They’re disgusting and hairy and they have way too many legs for my liking! I swear if you end up pulling a spider out of your pocket I am going to run away, screaming like a little girl and flailing my arms about wildly—and that’s definitely something that you do not want to see.”
